Lamar University and the Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) are committed to equitable learning opportunities for students with disabilities through the appropriate use of accommodations and modifications to ensure access to courses, services, activities, and facilities.

Students may apply to the ARC at any time but early registration is encouraged. Once accommodations are assigned to the student, they may select their accommodations for each registered course. Accommodations are never retroactive.

Student Registration Process

1. Complete a New Student Application.

2. Provide documentation to establish the presence of a disability, defined as a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities.

3. Schedule and complete an intake appointment with a director of the Accessibility Resource Center. Appointments are available by phone, in-person, or remotely via TEAMS.

4. Monitor Lamar University e-mail for communication during the registration process and next steps once the intake is complete.
