Special accommodations are provided for students with disabilities. A student wishing to receive academic accommodations at Lamar State College Orange must:
Complete the Accommodations Request form.
This form can be completed online or in person in the Advising Department.
Submit Documentation
Provide sufficient and current documentation in the form of an evaluation performed by a qualified professional (such as a licensed physician, psychologist, or audiologist). The Accessibility Coordinator will review the Accommodations Request and documentation provided to determine eligibility for reasonable academic accommodations.
Meet with the Accessibility Coordinator for the Intake meeting.
The Accessibility Coordinator will discuss the process for implementing accommodations, the responsibilities, and expectations of the student.
Accommodations Letter
The Accessibility Coordinator will send the letter to the instructors for signature. Once all instructors have signed, the student will be asked to sign and receive a copy of the Accommodations Letter. You are responsible for requesting your Accommodations Letter before the start of each semester.
Notify the Accessibility Coordinator of Accommodation concerns or changes in disability.
If you have any concerns about the implementation or effectiveness of your accommodations, including any issues with instructors over your accommodations, contact the Accessibility Coordinator. You are also advised to inform the Accessibility Coordinator of any changes in your disability that would present a need for changes in your accommodations. You may need to submit updated documentation if you are requesting additional accommodations.
